IMPORTANT: 2021 JCI Academy dates
Delegates are required to arrive at the designated hotels in Sendai City on Friday, September 17 and depart Sendai on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
The official dates of 2021 JCI Academy Sendai are September 17-26, 2021.
Insurance for 2021 JCI Academy delegates only covers the period September 17-26 inclusive.
Kindly understand that the hosting organizations, volunteer interpreters and host families in Sendai will not be held liable for delegates at any point prior to September 17 and after September 26.
Friday, September 17: Arrive in Sendai, and check in at the designated hotel
Sunday, September 26: Depart Sendai
A document entitled “Delegates Guidelines” which will include detailed information on the homestay program, Sendai programs and other events, as well as a suggested list of things to bring, will be emailed to delegates one month prior to the start of the 2021 JCI Academy.
Delegates are required to comply with the rules set by the JCI Academy organizers and the course leader.
Proper attitude and behavior will be expected of the JCI Academy delegates as members of JCI. In your capacity as a JCI Academy delegate, please follow the rules and be extra careful not to behave in an inappropriate manner.

Although Japan has visa exemption agreements with the 68 countries and regions included on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website linked below, these agreements (with the exception of the countries highlighted in grey) have been suspended for the time being, as part of broader security measures taken by Japan to halt the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

If your nationality is not included on the above Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website, you are required to apply for a visa to enter Japan.
