JCI and United Nations SDG Action Campaign Renew Partnership to Advance the Sustainable Development Goals

For Immediate Release

1 December 2017, Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Junior Chamber International (JCI) and the United Nations SDG Action Campaign extended their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding during the 2017 JCI World Congress in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The partnership supports the mobilization of young people to take action to create awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and facilitate dialogue with stakeholders around priority areas in their communities.

JCI's work with the UN SDG Action Campaign (formerly the UN Millennium Campaign) began in 2004, when JCI committed to advancing the UN Millennium Development Goals (UN MDGs).

In 2015, JCI officially committed to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals, a new set of 17 time-bound goals aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity and equality for all.

JCI and the UN SDG Action Campaign work to motivate and empower young people to take targeted action and create sustainable results for the SDGs through campaigns related to the Global Day of Action and Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development.

Furthermore, through this heightened partnership both organizations seek to both strengthen the voices of young people in the global arena in creating such solutions and invest in future generations by developing and implementing the next phases of the Global Youth Empowerment Fund’s framework and action plan.

About JCI: JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens age 18 to 40 whose purpose is providing development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change around the world, uniting all sectors of society to create sustainable impact. For more information visit:
