JCI and Madiba Leadership Institute Sign Partnership to Strengthen Youth Leadership in Africa


3 May 2018, Dakar, Senegal – Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Madiba Leadership Institute part of the ISM Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding at a private meeting between the two parties in Dakar, launching a partnership to strengthen leadership among African citizens and enabling them to expand their impact in their respective communities. 

Through their partnership, JCI and Madiba Leadership Institute will focus on youth engagement across Africa, particularly focused on educating and developing them into active citizens who have the understanding, ability and confidence to drive change in a contemporary Africa. 

During this two-year partnership, the partners will develop the Active Citizenship Education Program for young Africans that will take place in Dakar, Senegal over a 4-week period. The program will educate participants about social responsibility, the Active Citizen FrameworkTM, transparency, resilient leadership and how to mobilize communities. Additionally, the Madiba Leadership Institute will join JCI as a collaborating partner in promoting and implementing I Am Africa, which is a movement to inspire, educate and engage all Africans in creating a prosperous and peaceful Africa for all.
