We’re All in This Together: How JCI is moving forward from COVID19
Around the world, JCI organizations are leading by example to provide support both for the health crisis and the economic crisis, helping small business owners and entrepreneurs rise up from the long-term effects that will affect us all.
In every JCI area, members collaborate on projects to encourage healthy habits and find ways to help healthcare workers. Many Local and National organizations are innovating more than ever through digital meetings and virtual seminars. As we collectively adjust to the practice of social distancing and virtual meetings, members have shared motivational and uplifting messages from their homes in an effort to promote well-being and economic empowerment.
While communities continue to prepare and respond to this crisis, JCI is proactively seeking sustainable solutions. How is your organization offering support during this time? Share with us your best practices – especially economic initiatives to support small businesses and entrepreneurs – and explore resources on the JCI Trello board to spread the positivity.
Read President Itai Manyere’s messageto the JCI community and continue leading with innovation! Our Board of Directors are working very hard with the JCI World Headquarters team and the Conference Organizing Committees of the Area Conferences to provide solutions that will be in line with our top priority: the well-being of our members and stakeholders.
The program deadlines for the 2020 JCI Area Conferences remain the same. Please continue to register for public speaking, debate, twinning and awards participation. Look out for announcements this week regarding individual area conferences and programming updates.
Developing Leaders for a Changing World Using the Four Areas of Development Opportunity
Last year, JCI’s Marketing Committee worked to reshape the message of JCI in a new and improved tagline, “Developing Leaders for a Changing World.” In 2020, JCI will continue focusing on this message and putting our members first. We will recruit young talented people who will become empowered through the JCI framework to lead their communities and businesses. We will focus on the four areas of opportunity – business and entrepreneurship, individual development, international cooperation and community action – aligned in the JCI Consitution.
The Skills Development team members are currently creating materials and structuring courses to better reflect the tagline. JCI Official courses are now categorized as Foundational, Leadership and Advanced courses. You can look forward to courses featuring JCI Discover, a combination of JCI Achieve and JCI Impact; Engage-Empower-Grow, Journey of a JCI Leader, JCI Twinning, and more!
The Events team at JCI Headquarters are currently working on exciting new programs that will attract members to join our organization and enrich their personal and professional lives in the long run. Look for new programs like Creative Young Entrepreneur Program, Business Speed Networking and more in the coming year.
Our Growth and Development team are here to help make the most of the international network and to share best practices on how to improve the organization. Their focus is assisting Local and National Organizations in conducting successful projects in all areas of development.
To better serve members, the JCI Active Citizenship Framework will be expanded to further focus on business, individual and international development as well as community action. JCI’s advocacy campaigns will continue being reviewed by JCI members in each area to ensure they benefit our members.
Finally, the Partnerships team is reshaping strategic partnerships with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), AIESEC and the United Nations and seeking new corporate agreements. If you have any interest leads on how our global organization can partner for impact, please let us know.
At JCI, the members matter. Please share your feedback and ideas with our team so we can best serve you.
Congress Early Bird Rate Extended
