JCI Nilom elects new board 2021
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nilom has chosen a new board for the year 2021. Speeches from the candidates clearly indicate which direction the board wants to take in the coming year. This happened during their Election Meeting via ZOOM, on Saturday September 29, 2020.
The candidates had to indicate in their speeches why they chose a board position. The theme for the coming year is GROW, which stands for Growth, Responsibility, Opportunity, and Worth doing. With this theme, the elected board wants to focus on individual growth of the members and growth as a JCI organization on a national and especially international level.
The elected board consists of: Sevillio Creton (Local Treasurer), Chivian Gilliot (Local Secretary), Randy Berghout (Vice President External), Arsenio Moidin (Vice President Internal), Virgil Martels (Vice President International), Acheber Jamin (Executive Vice President ) and Andy Tjoe A Long (Local President).
The current board, led by Local President Ruiz Kartoredjo, has ensured continuity of the organization with this election. “2020 is a huge year for us full of challenges that we did not see coming. The current board has been capable enough to deal with this and to ensure a new board - continuity. This is one of the fundamental responsibilities of any board. ”
The idea behind JCI “One Year To Lead” means that the positions, both of the board and of the committees, are filled annually again. In this way, as many members as possible are given the opportunity to put the knowledge and tools they receive into practice.
During this election meeting, a number of guests outside the borders of Suriname were also present, notably the Local Presidents of JCI SXM ACTION (St. Maarten), JCI Filipino Junior Chamber (Hawaii), JCI Cayenne (French Guyana) and JCI delegates. Willemstad (Curaçao). The new board year starts on January 1 and ends on December 31.
