Purpose

The Meet To Read project was established with the objective of promoting the reading culture among young Vietnamese community to enhance competitiveness capacity in the context of global integration.
The Meet To Read project aims to realize the goal No. 4 (Quality Education) of the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals

Key objectives in 2019:
1. Social impact objectives: encouraging positive reading habit for:
1.1 Number of directly impacted people: 1.250 people
1.2 Number of online impacts:: 4.000 fanpage likes
2. JCI mission objectives: creating development environment for
2.1 Number of JCI members: 15 people
2.2 Number of volunteers: 20 people

CORE ACTIVITIES includes:
1. BOOK SHARING SESSION
- Monthly talk organized for members to share the good reads.
- The object for 18 to 40 year olds
2. TALKSHOW: “HOW DID BOOKS CHANGE MY LIFE?”
- A talkshow organized at Nguyen Van Binh book street, HCMC to promote reading habit
- The object for 18 to 40 year olds
3. CONTAINER LIBRARY
- Accompanying YBA to sponsor the container library for poor students in remote areas.
- Partnering with Reading Vietnam to train, educate and inspire the students to read more books.
- - The object for 4 to 10 year olds
4. UNIVERSITY BOOK TOUR
- A serie of book sharing sessions organized for students in universities and institutions.
- The object for 16 to 22 year olds

As of October 27, 2019, the project has affected 1675 people, of which 75 attended the book sharing session, 155 children participated in the awarding of the container library, 500 students participated in the book universirty tour. , 100 people attended TALKSHOW: “HOW DID BOOKS CHANGE MY LIFE?”, 30 members of the Organizing Committee, 39 volunteers supporting the project, 776 people are interested in the fanpage of the project

Recommendations

In 2020, activities such as:
- Promote communication activities and develop plans to inspire reading on fanpage such as reading challenges, book reviews, ...
- Calling for assistance from the world JCIs to help the project have financial resources
- Developing reading content for each target group
- Implement the following reading activities at container library-granting schools so that students have the habit of reading by training local inspirational reading ambassadors
