People impacted

1) To celebrate Australia Day with the local community, a long tradition that JCI Eastern (or its former Chapters prior to the amalgamation) has been keeping for the past 20 years 2) To increase the Chapter profile in the local area 3) To fund-raise for charity

JCI Eastern held their first event for 2012, the Australia Day fund-raising. For the past 20 years, JCI Eastern (or its former chapters before the amalgamation) has been an active supporter of the Australia Day twilight concert and fireworks organized by the Whitehorse City Council. Once again members and volunteers of JCI Eastern provided a team at this year’s event to raise money for UnitingCare, Burwood branch.

A grant program has been offered to UnitingCare (Burwood) to start a local project to assist families in need of help.

1) 450 glow bands, 40 large Australian flags, 90 flashing badges and 100 super popular flashing head boppers were sold to raise $1,479 on the night. 2) JCI Eastern team had a great night working together and participating in 2012 Australia Day Celebration.
