Climate Action

Earth Hour is an initiative to encourage individuals, businesses and organizations to take accountability for their ecological footprint and engage in dialogue and resource exchange that provides real solutions to our environmental challenges. Participation in Earth Hour symbolizes a commitment to change beyond the hour.

Earth Hour is a global movement happening on the last Saturday of March each year from 20:30 to 21:30.
This movement began in 2007 to raise awareness about many environmental issues such as climate change and natural losses.
"Earth Hour: Lights Off Earth On" is an event organised by JCI Tunis Business School as a marketing campaign where environmental speakers share with us their experience in nature and discuss essential points.
A booth in El Mourouj is also set to sensitize the citizens living in the area.
Added to that, few informative activities were organised in partnership with JCI Nabeul and JCI Tunisia-Zone A during the Spring Assize in to sensitise people about the importance of protecting Mother Earth and reducing electricity consumption.

Actions Taken

Promotional videos were published on our social media accounts presented by experts in the field to introduce Biodiversity and Wildlife conservation and sensitize the audience and raise awareness of environmental issues in local and global communities and prioritize the mother earth’s protection
During the spring assize of JCI Tunisia-Zone A, JCI Tunis Business School organised informative activities for the rest of the Jaycees from different L.M.Os. The hotel where the assize took place turned all of its lights while Jaycees lighted candles and celebrated the earth hour together. This manifestation was the unique and biggest manifestation in Tunisia and in was in collaboration with JCI Tunisia-Zone A.
To initiate the Earth Hour concept to local citizens, JCI Tunis Business School chose to set a booth in El Mourouj to distribute flyers, introduce the matter to people, and encourage them to join the movement. This action was so fruitful, people were highly involved in the matter and showed support to the movement.

The most significant result that Earth Hour reached is the spread of awareness among citizens and the positive feedback that people showed regards our event.
Also, we highly appreciate the support that other L.M.Os have shown during our event by participating in all the informative activities that we have organised.

The event had a bigger scale as a first scenario. It was intended to be in the Science City of Tunisia with the guests of honour, but unfortunately, for safety measure, we refrained.
Hopefully, our next Earth Hour would be a huge event and will have a wider reach.
