Purpose

To showcase the talents of children from various backgrounds

Overview

Art Mela is an annual event during which we showcase the talents of children from various backgrounds. This year, we collaborated with children from Residence La Chaux as we have an ongoing community empowerment project. We also collaborated with residents of a shelter housing victims of domestic violence. We included a session of art therapy and traditional music to highlight other forms of art and to promote inner and outer peace. This was also the opportunity to celebrate the 14th Anniversary of JCI City Plus.

Results

The talents of the children were broadcasted on National television. It was also a fun day to bond among themselves and with members of JCI City Plus. The community was able to know more about JCI City Plus too.

Recommendations

To continue to involve our beneficiaries in Art Mela as a way to strengthen our bond of mutual trust. To involve the District Council.
