Overview
JCI gave National Organizations the opportunity to host their own JCI CYE Program to stimulate youth entrepreneurship in their countries.
The program helped JCI Lebanon in membership growth, brand awareness, and financial sustainability.
It gave opportunities for students and professionals to develop their ideas and businesses in the agri-food sector nationally, regionally, and internationally.
Results
The JCI CYE Program is one of the main JCI Programs that are included in the 2022 JCI Plan of Action. It is a well-known fact that SMEs represent 90% of the country's businesses and employ 50% of the population. However, this sector is often overlooked and left without a voice, which if taken care of, can become a force that aids in the recovery of Lebanon’s economy after a long period of uncertainty.
This is where our enterprising leadership was summoned into action, whereby the 2022 JCI Lebanon CYE Program was created with those overlooked SMEs in mind. We conducted a market analysis and ended up deciding on agri-food SMEs. We realized that the agriculture sector is often the sector in which economies fall back on, and in a time were Lebanon is witnessing its worst inflation period to date, this is something that needs our utmost attention.
Participants of the 2022 JCI Lebanon CYE Program attended nine business-critical workshops that will be held throughout the last week of September and the first 10 days of October as follows:
Business Modeling and Success Factors for Small Businesses
Leading Yourself and Your Team for Better Results
Social Media Management
Content Strategy for Business
Product Development, Labeling, and Packaging
Fundraising
Legal Registration Laws and Processes
Certification and Legal Registration for Exporting
Build a Business or Grow One? What Is the Difference and How to Do It in a Better Way!
Four of these training will be provided by our partners, and the rest are going to be provided by past JCI Lebanon Presidents based on their fields of expertise.
In a nutshell, the 2022 JCI Lebanon CYE Program is built for young enterprising leaders to showcase their businesses and take them to the next level.
Recommendations
Looking at this past year, we should definitely get in contact with potential sponsors/partners much earlier on because communication with organizations can take a long time.
