Purpose

The purpose of this project was to educate JCI eastern members and non-members about directorship on a board through a series of interactive online sessions and email lessons.

Overview

This program gave young leaders the skills and knowledge about governance to be able to serve their community in a local board and start our board careers.

Actions Taken

Results

The Boarden Your Career program equipped the participants with an understanding of governance processes and the importance of governance. This empowered us to seek opportunities to make a difference through serving on a board. The participants learned about the responsibilities of being a director on a board gained real life insights through the guest speakers. The guest speakers on the program were also inspiring and displayed great examples of responsible leadership and JCI values.

By the end of the program, many of us put ourselves forward for the board of JCI Eastern as we had learned how important the leadership of a board can be.
