Parents think that their interactions with their kids come easily to them and that their kids are born with the ability to engage with their parents. However, the majority of issues in Vietnamese families relate to the interaction between the parents and the children.

Enhancing the quality of parent-child interactions in Vietnamese households

Overview

The project was established in 2018
2018: Organized activities to support disadvantaged children at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Hoa Vang, Da Nang
2019: Construction of works to serve children in the highlands - Ta Poo Primary & Secondary School, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province
2020: Organize programs to share knowledge and how to interact with autistic children. Organize an exhibition of artworks created by autistic children.
In 2021: Organizing a series of programs to spread knowledge and practical experiences with direct beneficiaries being parents and children with autism
In 2022:
- Organize a series of talkshows for parents on how to interact with their children effectively.
- Organize a series of programs "Step with children" with team games for parents and children to work together to overcome.
- Collaborated with sponsor Leogo English to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival program for 50 families to experience team games
- Organize a video creation contest "walking with children" for families to share the exciting moments of parents and children to the community, to spread happiness and promote attention. on the quality of the relationship between parents and children in the family

More than 150 parents are direct benefits.
More than 200 households with children are indirect benefits.
2 chat programs featuring more than 80 guests
5 programs "companion with children" with 150+ families participating
10 videos participating in the video creation contest "walking with children" and a total of 10000+ reach on facebook.
6 volunteers have become JCI Da Nang members.
$2000+ was the total amount of sponsorship received.
Post-project surplus: $1000+

Recommendations

Prepare monthly reports for the management board of JCI Da Nang as well as for partners and sponsors.
Kickoff joint project with other projects of JCI Da Nang to maximize efficiency in interacting with partners and sponsors
The project started earlier (January 2023) to have more time to impact the community
