Purpose

Satakunta Impact School for young is implemented in cooperation between JCI Pori, JCI Rauma, JCI Kankaanpää and Regional Council of Satakunta. The objective of Satakunta Impact School for young is to inspire young students in Satakunta area, Finland, to participate in impacting the society, to develop their understanding of decision-making structures and to help them in networking.


Overview

15 students, aged 16-22, participate in the Impact School. The student were elected based on their application. The Impact school will continue until the end of school year 2018-2019 and include 8 training sessions. During this time the students will learn about various means to influence - such as municipal, government and EU decision-making as well as corporate, non-profit organisation and media related influencing. Trainers are professionals from different fields of expertise, young influencers and experienced politicians.


Results

The final results can be reported after the Impact school is completed in the spring of 2019. However the students have already given very positive feedback about the training contents.


Recommendations

The Impact school is a great way to increase understanding of society's decision making and influencing structures, and also an excellent opportunity for JCI to network with young active students as they are prospective future JCIs!
