Sustainable Development Goal

Development stage

Education and Economic Empowerment

To provide Soft Skills workshops to participants and improve their knowledge on essential skills which are not normally trained at school. To make young people realize the necessity of such skills and give them a head start on their journey to improving themselves and being better.
To also give a chance to JCI members to test their public speaking, presentation and workshop delivery skills and to also aid in recruitment of new members.

The workshops are to be delivered in 3 consecutive evenings as after work events. First topic is "Active listening", second - "Teamwork" and third - "Presentation Skills".
These events are approximately 1 hour in length and aim to engage the participants, rather than just lecture them.

The workshops were a great success for JCI Varna. All three nights had an average of 25 participants which left positive feedback for the idea and organization. JCI Varna is considering conducting this project at least once more during 2019 in order to improve on the foundation laid in March.
Soft Skills are a vast topic which leaves a lot of room for future events and "Leveling up" the knowledge of participants.

The chapter managed to recruit 2 new members thanks to this project, mostly thanks to the great presentation of JCI in the beginning which was linked to the personal development and growth of the current members acting as workshop facilitators for the event.

Next events will be more structured and there will be more engaging activities for participants in order for them to leave with more practical skills which they can utilize right after the workshop.
