Development stage

Education and Economic Empowerment

Family bond and interaction create a harmony family, hence we aim to increase the awareness of parents on the importance of quality time spent, education and child care towards primary school children through the participation of our program. Children should start education since young to provide development of more positive mindset, we are to inspire their creativity and marketing strategy throughout retail business in Little Boss Carnival. Furthermore, retail business is very competitive due to the rapid growth of e-commerce, hence we hope participants are able to study and analyze current market trend of Melaka. Our local government is concerning on environmental quality, thus we are supporting local government and promoting energy and natural resources saving, reduce pollution and reduce needs of landfill education towards the children through participation of coloring contest.

The carnival was conducted with two different events, which were food fair and coloring contest. We were honored to have YB Khoo Poay Tiong, Ahli Parlimen Kota Melaka, to be our guest of honor for this carnival event. Children came from different states with their parents, such as Johor, Melaka and Kuala Lumpur, with a total of 250 participants. 60 booths were set up for the food fair with different business category such as stationery, food, beverage, fashion, arts and craft, technology gadgets, games and entertainment. The set up preparation was done by children, together with the help and advice from their parents. Environmental awareness was promoted to be the theme for coloring contest to increase the knowledge and understanding on the importance of "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle".

Children are appreciating their parents' efforts for the entire process of conducting the food fair, while the parents are feeling joyful throughout the fun education process towards their children. Food fair participants had strengthen the skills and techniques of budget estimation, profit and loss computation, retail market analysis, social skill and marketing strategy. While coloring contest participants had gained deeper understanding towards environmental care knowledge. Market analysis was done within the 700 peoples attended the carnival and we found out food category is the main market in Melaka among the 7 categories as mentioned earlier.

We believe collaboration with Department of Environment from local government for this program is able to provide more information of environmental cares and create more awareness to the community. Also, Little Boss Carnival program is able to align with government's latest environment awareness campaign or activities if collaborate with related government department.
