"No Limits But the Sky!" --Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote of La Mancha “We must now stand united against evil in all its forms. “The intent of terrorists is to paralyze our freedoms, change our lifestyles, and spread fear within our society. “We must not allow this to happen. “At the Barcelona World Congress we will gather as young people from more than 100 nations, setting an example of peace, cooperation, and unity; helping the light of freedom burn bright for all to see. JCI and the Congress Organizing Committee are preparing to provide a safe and wonderful Congress for you and your members. We are committed to ensure an outstanding program, superb training, great speakers, and wonderful opportunities for all members to meet and enjoy our freedoms. This we must do!” —10/5/01 President’s Friday Focus Over 4000 Junior Chamber members from more than 100 countries stood up for the values Junior Chamber cherishes most. On November 4–9, 2001, they gathered in Barcelona and took advantage of countless opportunities to learn, develop themselves, meet interesting young people from everywhere in the world, visit new places, taste new foods, and see for themselves sights they had only read and dreamed about before. The Barcelona JCI Congress was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for delegates. It stimulated their minds and recharged their psyche. It provided respite, renewal, networking, professional training, and strong solidarity after the September 11 terrorist attacks on America and freedom-loving people everywhere. As per JCI’s corporate slogan, "Entrepreneurs in Action," the Barcelona Congress offered delegates unique training, fellowship and business opportunities. Members also enjoyed a kaleidoscope of glittering ceremonies, national parties, gourmet cuisine and fine wines, while delighting in Barcelona’s beauty, rich natural environment and famous hospitality. When the Congress was over, members were looking forward to 2002 and to the next Congress a world away, in Las Vegas, U.S.A., which was already beckoning.
