JCI to Host Global Partnership Summit at United Nations Headquarters and Waldorf Astoria

July 21, 2016, St. Louis, USA – JCI will be hosting a Global Partnership Summit in New York City at the United Nations Headquarters and the Waldorf Astoria July 25–28. This global conversation will focus on how young people can invest in the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
With the support of the Office of the UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth, the Summit will engage global leaders and stakeholders from all sectors of society to discuss important challenges and opportunities that the Global Goals present.
The Summit will feature a variety of sessions and keynotes that are focused on global sustainable development. Featured keynote speakers include Former Prime Minister of Senegal, Aminata Touré, Former Vice President of the World Bank Group and Partner of Think Tank SofiaBank, Dr. Mieko Nishimizu and Under Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs for the United Nations, Kim Won-soo.
Summit attendees will unite at this event to discuss solutions to the critical challenges of our time and explore how the coordinated efforts of all sectors of society can lead the way to sustainable change through local action.
“The Global Partnership Summit offers young people the opportunity to understand that global challenges can be addressed through collaborations at the grassroots level. It empowers young people to take action on issues bigger than themselves,” said Arrey Obenson, JCI Secretary General.
