The objective of the event to promote peace through our 1st JCI KL badminton tournament. We believe sports bring people together across race, religion, gender, geography, political affiliation, sexual orientation and age and eventually raise funds for humanitarian work.

Sport is a universal language that can bring people together, no matter what their origin, background, religious belief or economic status
JCI Kuala Lumpur & JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (Malaysia), a non-profit humanitarian organization, had hosted its very first ‘PLAY FOR PEACE’ Badminton Tournament in Sports Arena Puchong on 2nd – 3rd September 2017.
This year charity run leverages the heroic efforts of those who are willing to help one another in times of needs, similar to what can be seen in JCI Kuala Lumpur or JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin humanitarian work. This is in line with UN SDG Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions; building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sports practiced. It also brings unity and harmony regardless of color or creed. More importantly, though, sport promotes universal values that transcend language and culture. No other social activity brings people together in such great numbers, and with so much passion and enjoyment.

This badminton tournament had attracted more than 300 participants to raise funds for its humanitarian work. The ‘PLAY FOR PEACE’ Badminton.

Tournament encourages Malaysians to come together to celebrate the deeds of the everyday heroes in society, whilst at the same time be a part of the good cause.

JCI Kuala Lumpur & JCI Kuala Lumpur Mandarin donated RM 5,000 to Love Force House Of Charity. They are very grateful for all the support they have received since the inception of ‘Play For Peace’ Badminton Tournament this year. They hope to attract more participants in future as they will continuously provide an avenue where Malaysians can play their part in showing supports.

More different types of sport events share be conducted to promote unity through sport in Kuala Lumpur.
