Sustainability on the Ground
The sixth issue of LEADER Magazine for 2026 shows what JCI Sustainability Week looked like on the ground, in members’ own communities. From August 24 to 30, Local Organizations around the world turned five sustainability themes into real projects, and this issue tells their stories.
Read how JCI Rwanda members joined about 3,000 neighbors to clear two tons of plastic in Gasabo, how JCI Antananarivo crowned the first champion of REBORN, a waste valorization competition that’s the first of its kind in Madagascar, and how JCI Dhaka Impact grew a campaign on reclaimed purifier water into a national conservation initiative. You’ll also find projects from Mauritius, Bolivia, Senegal, and India.
The issue also covers JCI joining the Global Network for Youth as one of 12 inaugural members during UNGA81, a conversation with Makoto Arai on the values JCI and BNI share, and a personal account from 2026 Congress Director Luis Angelo Sevilla on the road to the World Congress in Clark, Philippines, November 11 to 15.
